1What the board is for
Saying what you were taught to keep quiet: generational curses, purity culture, religion, family and healing. Posts carry no names, so speak from your own experience and answer others with care.
2What you can’t post
- Anything that names or identifies a person, yourself included: names, phone numbers, emails, links or @handles. The one exception: you may sign a poem with your own name.
- Sexual words. Swearing and slurs are not refused but shown masked, like f***, so you can still say what was said to you.
- Hate, threats or harassment of anyone.
- Anything sexual, and anything that puts a child at risk.
- Anything that encourages suicide, self-harm or disordered eating.
- Images, or links to images.
- Advertising, or anything illegal.
3How posts are checked
Every post and comment is checked automatically before it goes up. A word filter masks swearing and slurs (shown as f***), and stops sexual words and personal details as you write, telling you what to change. An AI safety check then reads each post for hate, threats, sexual content, child safety and self-harm. A post that passes goes up straight away.
If a post suggests the writer may be at risk, it is held and the writer is shown the helplines.
4Reports
Anyone can report a post or a comment and choose why. Reports from three people hide it while it is checked. A report about a child’s safety or intimate images hides it at once, and it is dealt with within 48 hours. Once Kay has checked something and kept it up, new reports reach her but don’t hide it again.
You can also report that you’re worried about the person who wrote something. Kay sees it on her desk.
The same rules cover the poetry wall. Poems are checked the same way, and a poem the safety check is unsure about waits for Kay to read it. A poet can sign a poem with their own name, never someone else’s, and can add a content note so readers know what a poem touches on. Readers can give a poem a heart, once from each device, but poems take no comments.
5If your post is hidden
When you post, you are given a private reference. If you think a decision about your post was wrong, you can appeal with that reference, and a person will look at it.
To appeal, email kayonpurpose@outlook.com with your reference. Kay will see your email address; it is never shown on the board.
6Who is responsible
The person accountable for the board’s safety will be named here before it opens.
